This group of mother cows and calves were happy to move into this sorghum Sudangrass field this week. As you can see, this grass grows VERY tall and is great eating during the summer. It is not frost tolerant but will provide lots of good eating till this fall. This grass is also great at adding organic matter to the soil!

Turtle crossing! We found this big guy crossing our farm lane after a rain storm. We have been taking advantage of the cooler weather this week by replacing some sections of our barn roofs that have rusted through in spots over the years. Would normally be a very hot job at the end of July!

Been lots of long days on the farm. Ace & I have gotten too much tractor time together, I think she is ready to go back to moving cattle with me. The last 2 weeks of May were non-stop rain so everything got delayed & compressed into the last couple weeks. We chopped 150 acres of ryegrass for silage, spread manure and then this week planted corn on 250 acres
